Publicize FREE Mammograms

Empower and Engage! The Holy Spirit is leading St. Mark's Lutheran Church, ELCA (the church with the red doors on Clayton Rd.) to partner with St. Mary's Hospital for our missional outreach. Some of you have heard from us before! St. Mary's has asked us to serve as an information conduit to the faith community, schools, community groups and other institutions announcing upcoming medical events. Budget cuts at St. Mary's prevent them sending out the community health newsletter and we are trying to help fill the gap. We hope you will join us in this effort!

Breast cancer occurs in 1 of every 8 women. Through a grant from the Susan G. Komen Foundation, St. Mary's Empower and Engage program offers FREE mammograms and breast exams to women over 40 who are not covered by insurance. Please publicize this free screening event, including posting the flyer, copying it for distribution, and making bulletin, newsletter or other announcements as appropriate for your organization. Together we can save lives.

The next program will take place from 8am-noon on February 16, 2011

The Empower & Engage Program offers:
• Free Screening Mammogram for women who are:
– Age 40 or older
– AND Never had a mammogram,
• OR not had a mammogram in more than 13 months,
– AND You have no insurance
