CHICAGO (ELCA) -- The Rev. Mark S. Hanson, presiding bishop of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), said he appreciated
President Barack Obama's May 19 speech on the Middle East and agreed
that "the status quo" in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is
unsustainable.
