Immanuel End-of-the-Year Update

December 1, 2010
Friends of Immanuel,

The clothing give-away and chili meal was a big success. Over one hundred people were served. The clothing was plentiful, thanks to the great response we received.

THANK YOU! To all the churches and individuals who answered our call for help with our gas leak. Person Mechanical Services completed the gas line repair on November 24, Immanuel's gas service was restored. Just in time! The cold weather came quickly. Again, thank you for all your help.

With help from Unity Lutheran Church (Bel- Nor), Immanuel was able to provide 33 families with the fixings for a complete Thanksgiving meal. We had a great time passing out the turkeys and knowing a difference was being made in the lives of our neighbors.

Members of Atonement Lutheran Church (Florissant) provided donations and stocked our emergency food pantry. We are now ready to provide emergency food assistance to anyone in need. We also provide information on other pantries or agencies offering non-emergency assistance.

We are now preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus with a birthday party. Our goal is to provide 100 children with gifts for Christmas.

Immanuel was blessed with a toy donation that will give each child under the age of 11 a toy. Donations are needed to help provide kids over age 12 with $10.00 cash or gift certificates. There are 35 children on the list over age 12. Immanuel would also like to provide the families of our Christmas kids with a 25.00 gift certificate from Schnuck's or Aldi's to go toward a Christmas meal, and a fruit/nut basket. We have 35 families we are trying to serve.

On behalf of Immanuel and the folks in the neighborhood, thanks again for all the blessings and support we have received!

May God continue to spread His blessings to all of you.
